American Mass Shooting Spawns Wave of Apathy

Millions of Americans woke up Monday to their phones, alerting them to the horrors that took place Sunday evening in Las Vegas. In a starteling event most of them shrugged and moved on with their day, guilelessly not really thinking about it. Despite this, the media continued to promote an idea of solidarity and general unified caring for the victims. According to an online poll most Americans said they thought mass shootings were bad but really didn’t give a shit. Of course if they new someone involved they naturally would not cease talking about it and demand a day of work, but most found the very concept just “not that interesting.” One millennial put it “After two wars, watching Schindlers list on repeat for a month, Grand theft auto, and accepting the fate of humanity as a relatively small insignificant component of the universe I just can’t be bothered.”
